As a lashed studio owner, returning to work part-time after having a baby can be a challenge. But what happens when that baby is your third child, and they're a toddler? Well, let's just say it adds a whole new level of hilarity to the process of seeing clients again. First of all, forget about any semblance of a peaceful and relaxing environment. Gone are the days of soft lighting and the sounds of sweet tunes. Now your salon is a playground, complete with toys, snacks, and a toddler who thinks it's hilarious to interrupt your appointments by making noise, climbing on furniture, or demanding attention - she has been known to try and help wax the odd eyebrow! Speaking of appointments, be prepared for some interesting background noises. Instead of soothing music, your clients may hear the sounds of baby talk, Peppa Pig, or even a temper tantrum. You'll become an expert at calming your baby down, while simultaneously keeping your client comfortable and relaxed. And let's not forget about the interruptions. Your toddler will inevitably need something just when you're in the middle of an appointment. Whether it's a nappy change, a snack, or a hug, they will demand your attention at the most inconvenient times. And good luck trying to get them to be quiet while you're working on a client's lashes. You may end up having to resort to bribery or distraction tactics to keep them occupied. In conclusion, returning to work part-time with a toddler who is the third child can be a hilarious and chaotic experience. But it's also a reminder that life is messy, unpredictable, and full of surprises. So embrace the chaos, laugh at the absurdity, and remember that you're doing the best you can. And who knows, maybe your toddler will even inspire some creative new eyelash styles! For expert eyelash extensions in Christchurch contact the team at Lashed! Emily
